With Everyone needing water and more of it. Drilling your own water well is important. If you have 10,000.00 or more, just call a drilling contractor in the phone book. Other people who are struggling and make low wages or just people who are financially strapped have to find different ways to get water on there little ranchette or country lot. Drilling rig rental is one option, but you may not have a drilling rig for rent in your area. Buying a cheap craigslist toy drilling rig is a another option, but if your water is deeper than 100ft or if you have hard rock, the toy hydra turd drill will not work. Pray you have no hard rock. Rock can be drilled, but not without larger more pricey drilling equipment. Some people get many in the area where need water and buy a used or new water well drilling rig and pool there money together to do this. Some places even offer free hands on drill training for customers who buy from therm. The drill training is worth more than the drill rig. Training makes the difference between success and failure.
There are some videos showing people drilling with PVC and a water pump, this only works in soft beach like sand and if water is shallow. If you have hard dirt or hard clay, this trick will not work.
